Overview & Rules
- Purpose - To create an awareness of the importance of savings and investing in the Bahamas
- Target – Senior High School Students (selected by Business Teacher or School)
- Program Dates – October 2026 to December 2026
Student Roles
- Watch module videos on financial topics and complete quizzes (7 total).
- Invest a nominal $100,000 dollars in the various securities provided by CFAL for a one-week period.
- Complete trade memos and provide rationale for purchase and sale of securities during the trading week.
- Assign a Team Leader who will be responsible for the investment group and a trader who will be responsible for completing and sending trade memos.
- Students must invest funds according to the established investment strategy. (Balanced Portfolio – 60% Equity & 40% Fixed Income)
- Students will be investing in the foreign investment market e.g. stocks and bonds.
Teacher Roles
- Teachers are to provide guidance to students and ensure proper research is completed.
- Ensure modules and quizzes are completed.
- Ensure rules are being followed as outlined by CFAL.
Grading Scheme – Total (100%)
- Portfolio Returns – 40%
- Written Analysis – 30%
- Quizzes – 20%
- Quality and Rationale of Trade Memos – 10%
Prize Money
The winning schools will be awarded as follows:
- 1st Place - $2,500
- 2nd Place - $1,500
- 3rd Place - $1,000
