Anthony R. Ferguson, president of CFAL, leading investment and financial analyst firm, announced four senior management promotions today, naming Sean Longley, Pamela Musgrove and Sophia Thurston vice presidents of the company; with Tamara Evans rounding out the management team as assistant vice president.
Mr. Ferguson said the promotion exercise was an integral element of his company?s strategic growth and business development plan. ?Sean, Pamela, Sophia and Tamara have demonstrated strong leadership, keen business sense and a deep concern for our clients since joining CFAL. These promotions are a natural progression for each of them and the company,? he said.
Sean K. Longley has been named Vice President, Business Development/Client Relations. Sean has more than 15 years? experience in the financial services industry, holding progressively senior management positions in the Nassau office of a Big Four global accounting firm and a European based private bank. In his current position at CFAL, Sean is responsible for developing, building and maintaining relationships with clients. Sean was previously responsible for the Financial Control, Pension Administration, Operations and Human Resources of the company. He also works closely with Companies in the design, structure and implementation of pension plans. He has extensive experience in the management and administration of several of the largest and most complex pension plans in The Bahamas. Sean holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Norfolk State University, Norfolk Virginia graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is a member of the Georgia State Board of Accountancy, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants. Sean is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Responsible for the day to day management of the investment management accounts is Pamela Q. Musgrove, now Vice President of Investments. Pamela also oversees company analysis and research. Pamela joined CFAL in July 1999, and has over 12 years experience in securities administration and trading, portfolio accounting, research and portfolio management. She earned her Bachelor Administration with Honours, concentration in finance, from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is also a Chartered Financial Analysts. Her professional affiliations include Director of the CFA Society of The Bahamas and the International Society of Financial Analysts.
New to the company is Sophia P. Thurston, who joined CFAL in 2008 as Vice President, Pension Administration/Operations, bringing with her her 17 years of financial services experience. Currently, Sophia is responsible for day to day operations for back office and pension administration. Sophia earned her MBA at University of Phoenix, Arizona and her BBA at Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada. Sophia is a member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Sophia previously worked as an Operations Manager at a major private bank and has experience in Funds Transfer, Securities/Custody and Documentation. She has also held oversight of Fund Accounting, Investor Relations, Financial Services and Corporate Services. Sophia is a former Audit senior in the Nassau office of a Big Four global accounting firm.
Tamara Evans was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Brokerage and Trading. Tamara joined the company in September 2000 and has more than 8 years of experience in the financial services industry. She serves as the firm?s brokerage and trading liaison and assistant portfolio manager. During her tenure, Tamara served as brokerage administrator, portfolio assistant, trader, senior securities trader and currently assistant portfolio manager. Tamara received her educational training at the College of the Bahamas and she has obtained her Series 7, BISX Registered Trader and SCB?s stock broker licenses. Prior to joining CFAL, she served in the accounting department of ColinaImperial Insurance Ltd.
